Dear Society Members and Friends,
For nearly 20 years, the Greenville County Historical Society has called 211 E. Washington Street home. Our gracious landlords and neighbors upstairs, the Arrington family of V.M. Manning & Co., have plans to expand their business, thus creating the need for GCHS to relocate.
The Board of Directors has established a relocation task force, and the group is already hard at work. Details on the new location are being finalized, and we can’t wait to share them with you. Our last day of operation at E. Washington Street will be Friday, December 21, and we will reopen in the new location in mid- to late-January 2019.
We need your help.
Would you make your year-end tax-deductible gift to the Historical Society to help defray costs associated with our upcoming move? Some areas of need include the purchase of approximately 200 moving boxes, professional moving expenses, and the purchase and installation of shelves and cabinets to maintain our collections.
We’d like to thank you for your gift:
$100 ▪ The Greenville Heritage ornament of your choice
(New this year, Campbell’s Covered Bridge)
$150+ ▪ Greenville’s Grand Design by Tom Poland
Your gift of any amount will allow us to continue sharing and celebrating
Greenville’s rich history for many years to come. Thank you for your support!
From the board, staff, and volunteers of the Historical Society, we send our best wishes for a wonderful holiday season.
