This book, a visual trip back in time covering the period of 1900 to 1930, presents the buildings, sights and changing landscape of Greenville, South Carolina–at the time, a small southern town with an active textile industry. Through the use of some 75 colorful postcards, the author illustrates Greenville’s history during this 30-year period. The subject of each card is given, along with the date in most cases, and some historical background. Readers will recognize a number of well-known buildings that are still standing, while other postcards are nostalgic reminders of times gone by. Pub date: 1995.
