Early century 20th century Greenville still exists in the photographs of the William B. Coxe Collection covering 1899 to 1970. Coxe collected prior photographic records of Greenville upon his arrival in the Upstate after World War II. He opened a studio and chronicled the history of the county until his death in 1973. In 1989, the Society was offered the contents of his studio.
