This book, a mix of church, architecture and political history, is an account of the accomplishments of nineteenth century Episcopalian minister John DeWitt McCollough, who undertook to bring the Episcopal faith to the South Carolina Piedmont. During his lifetime, he designed 20 churches, many of which still stand, and began or nurtured more than a dozen congregations. Researched and written by renowned local historian Judith Bainbridge, the text is enhanced by black and white photographs taken by her husband, architect Bob Bainbridge. Pub date: 2001.
